514 Calls, Multiple Crashes Reported Across Rutherford County Over Weekend

Rutherford County emergency communications handled more than 500 emergency and administrative calls over the weekend, according to a radio report from county emergency communications.

The report said dispatchers received 514 911 and administrative calls during a 48-hour period.

Law enforcement accounted for a large portion of the activity:

• 206 calls involving the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office

• 81 calls involving Forest City Police

• 76 calls involving Spindale Police

• 34 calls involving Rutherfordton Police

• 12 calls involving Lake Lure Police

  
  

Emergency medical services responded to 86 calls, according to the report.

Fire departments also responded to several incidents, including motor vehicle accidents and a vehicle fire.

The report listed:

• Cliffside: Motor vehicle accident

• Forest City: Motor vehicle accident and vehicle fire

• Rutherfordton: Motor vehicle accident and fire alarm

• SDO: Two motor vehicle accidents
