McDowell County Announces 2026 General Election Early Voting Schedule

The McDowell County Board of Elections has released the schedule for early voting for the 2026 General Election, giving voters multiple opportunities to cast their ballots before Election Day.

Early voting begins Thursday, October 15, and continues through Saturday, October 31, with weekday and Saturday voting hours available.

Early Voting Schedule

• Thursday-Friday, October 15-16: 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

• Saturday, October 17: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

• Monday-Friday, October 19-23: 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

• Monday-Friday, October 26-30: 8:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m.

• Saturday, October 31: 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Voters may cast their ballots at either of the following locations:

  Old Fort, NC

Early voting allows registered voters to cast their ballots at either location, regardless of their Election Day precinct. Residents are encouraged to vote early to avoid potential lines and ensure their voices are heard in this year's General Election.
