NCDOT Launches Interactive Tool to Track Transportation Projects Across North Carolina

Keeping up with road and transportation projects in North Carolina just got a lot easier.

The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) has launched Projects Near Me,(click to be redirected), a new interactive online map that allows residents to explore transportation projects happening in their community and throughout the state.

The easy-to-use tool lets users search by street address to find projects near their home, workplace, or any other location. It also allows searches by a project's State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) identification number, county, or NCDOT Highway Division.

Users can narrow their search by project type, including aviation, bicycle and pedestrian improvements, bridges, ferries, highways, public transportation, rail, and other transportation projects. Additional filters highlight projects that are expected to generate significant public interest, include opportunities for public engagement, or are planned for the future.

Clicking on a project pin reveals more detailed information, including a description of the project, a local map, funding milestones for projects included in the current STIP, and contact information for those seeking additional details.

NCDOT notes that project information is updated as projects develop and may change over time. The map does not include current traffic impacts or construction delays.
