Law enforcement agencies are investigating two separate shootings that broke out at large parties over the weekend.

The board is looking for public input on what security features and reporting capabilities should be considered when planning a new system.

Deputies made 147 arrests during the month, while the jail population averaged 140 inmates — 113 males and 27 females. The office also issued 146 concealed carry permits, including 26 new permits and 120 renewals.

An April survey had found that walk-in customers were waiting more than three hours. Meanwhile, the number of in-office transactions has risen 7% this fiscal year to 643,000.

That timeline — more than four months for arrival alone — sparked discussion among council members and Public Services Director Dean Lindsey, who said his team is trying to expedite the process.
