14-Year-Old Girl Found Deceased in Arden

The Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office confirmed yesterday that 14-year-old Sundari Anders-Hoepgen was found deceased. She was last seen around 11:30 a.m. on Monday in the Riverstone Apartments area on Greenville Avenue near Long Shoals Road in Arden. At the time, she was wearing blue jeans, a black hoodie, and no shoes.

Search efforts began Monday night, involving the Buncombe County Sheriff’s Office and other local agencies. On Tuesday, the search continued with assistance from the Skyland Fire Department, Buncombe County Emergency Services, and the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation.

After several hours of searching on Tuesday, deputies located Sundari’s body. Authorities have not released further details at this time.
