Detective Adam Burnette with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 57-year-old William Ray Messer with felony possession of methamphetamine, along with misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana (up to ½ ounce) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Friday, September 5, detectives conducted a traffic stop on Messer for a traffic violation and determined he was driving without a license. A search of the vehicle by sheriff’s detectives and officers with the Marion Police Department led to the discovery of suspected methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Messer was given a secured bond of $10,000.
