Betty Seney

Betty Seney, age 75, of Forest City, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Frye Hospital in Hickory, NC.

Betty was born Wednesday, January 31, 1951 in Delaware to the late Lawrence and Pauline Haug. She was a dedicated homemaker who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a “people person” who never met a stranger. Betty enjoyed puzzles, attending activities at the Rutherford County Senior Center, playing bingo and sewing plastic canvas. She was a “Betty Boop” collector and enthusiast. Betty was a member of the Village Chapel.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Charles Haug; a sister, Frannie; great grandchild, Sean Liggs; son-in-law, Tracy Stuart along with many other extended family members.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Linda Stuart of Forest City, William Seney IV of Forest City, Polly Seney (Lee Stuart) of Forest City, Angel Bassett of Forest City, Lisa Cavender of Georgia, Brandi Pilgrim of Conyers, Georgia; brother, Lawrence Haug, Jr. (Barbara) of Camden, Delaware; sixteen grandchildren, multiple great grandchildren and a host of dear friends.

A gathering of friends and family will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Saturday, November 7th at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel.
