Brandon Atkins, age 55, passed away Saturday, January 31, 2026 due to an auto accident.
Brandon was born Sunday, August 16, 1970 in Rutherford County to Arlene Putman Atkins who resides in Henrietta and to the late Roger Atkins. He worked at Cone Mill-Haynes plant for seventeen years and most recently as a vendor for Canteen Vending for many years.
Brandon was a member of High Shoal Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He enjoyed collecting vintage stereo equipment, vinyl records and was a rock music enthusiast. Brandon was an avid Jeff Gordon fan and loved working out. He was a long-time member of the Fitness Connection. Brandon carried a Diet Pepsi with him wherever he went. His greatest love and joy was spending time with his family and going on a yearly trip with his kids and grandkids to Oak Island.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Louise and Junior Putman, May Sue Atkins and great grandparents, Brisco and Thursa Putman.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his loving wife, Sheila White Atkins; son, Zachary Atkins (Victoria) of Bostic; daughter, Megan Atkins Turner (Austin) of Forest City; stepdaughter, Danelle Jolley (Jason) of Polk County; stepsons, Sidney Marsh of Shelby and Jona Marsh of Forest City; his twin brother, Brian Atkins (Karol) of Forest City; brothers, Brent Atkins (Kim) of Forest City and Jason Atkins of Marion; grandchildren, Brody Turner and Walker Atkins; step grandchildren, Marlee Richardson, Hazel Richardson, Madelyn Jolley and Jordyn Jolley; nephews, Brian Atkins, Jr., Brennan Atkins, Braden Atkins, Braxton Atkins, Branson Atkins, Damion Atkins and Javarson Atkins; nieces, Annamarie Atkins, Emily Harris, Chelsea Stacey, Makaliah Atkins, Kierston Atkins, Korbin Dale and a daughter-in-law, Allison Bracken of Cliffside.
A funeral service will be conducted at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, February 10th at the First Baptist Church of Henrietta with Reverend Glenn Wilson, Reverend Shane Adkins and Reverend Josh Ledbetter officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Monday at the funeral home.
