Summary:

On April 10, 2026, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office attempted to stop a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed on Highway 18 North near Hartland Road. The driver failed to stop for blue lights and siren, continued fleeing and eventually lost control, spinning out on Jay Clark Road. The driver then fled the scene.

Using investigative resources, deputies identified the vehicle and learned it had been loaned to Kasey Holden Brown. Deputies located the vehicle at Brown’s residence, made contact and took him into custody.

Brown was transported to the Burke County Magistrate’s Office, where he was charged with Felony Flee to Elude Arrest with a Motor Vehicle, Misdemeanor Reckless Driving – Wanton Disregard, Misdemeanor Resisting a Public Officer and infractions including Failure to Maintain Lane Control, Exceeding Safe Speed, and Expired/No Inspection. He received a $15,000 secured bond, with an initial court date set for April 30, 2026.
