The Henderson Police Department recently completed an updated analysis of the City's Crime Index. The results show continued reductions in several major crime categories, both over the past year and across a longer-term comparison.
We are encouraged by this progress, but we also recognize that crime statistics are more than numbers. They represent people, families, victims, neighborhoods, and lives affected by crime. There remains a tremendous amount of work to be done.
Progress like this is not the work of any one person or agency. It reflects the dedication of our officers and staff, strong local, state, and federal law enforcement partnerships, successful prosecutions, support from our community, and the continued commitment of our Mayor and City Council to providing the resources necessary to address public safety.
A safer Henderson means more than lower crime numbers. It means stronger neighborhoods, greater opportunities for economic investment, stronger businesses, and a community where families can live and grow with confidence.
We are encouraged by the direction we are moving, but we are not satisfied with simply improving the numbers.
There is more work ahead, and we remain committed to doing it.
Together, we will continue working toward a safer, stronger, and more prosperous Henderson.
