The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office has charged a Marion man with multiple drug offenses following his arrest earlier this month.

Deputy Rodney Crater charged 41-year-old Donnie Lee Dover with felony possession of methamphetamine and felony possession of a controlled substance on jail premises. Dover was given a secured bond of $30,000.

On Monday, September 1, deputies responded to a residence in Marion regarding a domestic disturbance. While speaking with the victim, deputies learned that Dover, who was visiting the residence, had outstanding warrants. Authorities said Dover was not connected to the domestic incident.

He was taken into custody and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center. During processing, detention officers reported finding a plastic bag containing a suspected amount of methamphetamine concealed on his person.
