A Marion woman is facing multiple felony charges in Rutherford County, including embezzlement of more than $197,000, financial card fraud, and eight counts of forgery, according to court records and the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office.
The defendant, 47-year-old Ginger Parker Sisk, also known as Ginger Parker Frady, had warrants issued on September 9, and she received a $50,000 secured bond, records show. She is scheduled to appear in court again on September 24.
The charges allege that Sisk forged a church member’s name on eight checks without authorization. Court documents list examples dating back to 2022.
Church members first became aware of possible financial problems when the electricity at their building was cut off in June 2025, a victim told WCAB News. Since then, stricter financial audit controls have been put in place to prevent future issues, they said.
The case was referred to the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) because of church members' ties to the Sheriff’s Office.
One church member, whose name appears in the forgery charges, said the ordeal has been traumatic. “She’s put us through unnecessary trauma,” the member said. “To find out she was forging my name on checks—it’s devastating.”
The charges stem from a complaint filed by Agent J. Carpenter of the SBI’s Administrative Services Division in Raleigh. Warrants were issued by court official Brian Smith.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide further comment beyond their media calendar report on September 12.
