Deputies say 29-year-old Jeffrey Allen Horton faces multiple charges after a brief pursuit in rural Rutherford County

A Green Hill man was taken into custody on Oct. 4 after a brief foot chase that ended near C.C. Lovelace Road, according to law enforcement and scanner radio traffic.

Deputies arrested Jeffrey Allen Horton, 29, at 2:46 p.m., charging him with attempted breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, two counts of resisting a public officer, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office inmate database.

Scanner radio transmissions reviewed by WCAB News indicated deputies used a Taser near C.C. Lovelace Road before bringing Horton into custody.

The incident unfolded as multiple deputies searched the Coopers Gap Road area, speaking with residents while tracking the suspect’s movements. A deputy briefly entered private property nearby to continue the search after reports that Horton had run through a local yard.

Horton was booked into the Rutherford County Detention Center and is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 29, public records show.
