Spindale, N.C. — Families from across Rutherford County turned out in big numbers on Thursday for 100.9 Pure Country WCAB’s annual Back to School Bash, held at the historic Spindale House. The event brought together community members, local organizations, and public safety officials for an afternoon focused on preparing students for a successful school year.

The bash featured free backpacks and school supplies for children of all ages, helping ease the financial burden on families as the new academic year approaches. Volunteers from local churches, businesses, and civic groups were on hand to distribute supplies and greet families.

“This event is one of our favorite ways to give back to the community,” said a representative from WCAB. “It’s about making sure every child feels ready and supported heading into the school year.”

In addition to supplies, students and families enjoyed music, games, and the chance to meet with representatives from local agencies. The Spindale Police Department, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, and Spindale Fire Department were also present, offering safety resources and meeting with children to build positive connections.

The Spindale House provided a welcoming setting for the event, with indoor and outdoor spaces filled with activity. Organizers say the community response was strong, with hundreds of students receiving the supplies they need to start the year with confidence.

100.9 Pure Country WCAB’s Back to School Bash has become a staple in the community, bringing people together to support local families and celebrate the start of a new school year.
