Family Seeks Community Support Following Death of Jordan Wishon as Homicide Investigation Continues

The family of Jordan Elaine Wishon is asking for the community's prayers and financial support as they mourn the loss of the 30-year-old Cliffside woman whose death remains the focus of a Rutherford County homicide investigation.

In a public fundraising appeal, Wishon's mother said Jordan was "tragically murdered" and left behind her 9-year-old daughter.

The family said donations will help pay for funeral expenses and allow them to honor Jordan's life in a meaningful way. Wishon's mother also said she recently lost her job, adding to the financial hardship following her daughter's death.

"We are seeking support to help cover Jordan's funeral expenses and her celebration of life," the family wrote. "It is important to us that she is honored and remembered in a way that reflects the love and light she brought to our family and community."

The family also asked the community to keep them in their prayers as they navigate the loss.

According to her obituary, Wishon graduated from Mayland Community College and worked as a server at the Chalet Restaurant in Little Switzerland. She was remembered as someone whose lively spirit could brighten anyone's day and who loved cooking, swimming and caring for others.

She is survived by her daughter, Skyler Wishon; her mother, Sheila Tesenair Waters; fiancé Luke Smith; brother Travis Tesenair; several half-siblings; and other family members.

The Rutherford County Sheriff's Office announced June 29 that Wishon's missing person case had become a homicide investigation after detectives obtained a warrant charging Jaydakis Kashaune Hamilton with first-degree murder.

Since then, investigators have charged seven additional people they allege assisted after the killing or helped conceal the crime. Those charged are Christina Hamilton, Tiquah Carter, Alexis Nicole Morgan, Ronald David Gibson, Shadrick Deon Hines, Stevon Wilkerson and Issaac Odell.

The sheriff's office has said the investigation remains active and that detectives are committed to holding everyone responsible accountable.

All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
