Felons Arrested

On 03/24/2026, North Carolina Probation and Parole officers responded to 217 Kitten Trail, Forest City, North Carolina, in an attempt to locate an active absconder.


Upon arrival, officers made contact with the homeowner, Aaron Yelton, who is currently on active probation. Mr. Yelton was advised that officers were attempting to locate the absconder. As a condition of his probation, a search of the residence was conducted.


During entry, officers encountered an additional individual, identified as Kriste

n Ramsey, who was also inside the home and is currently on post-release supervision.

While conducting a walk-through of the residence, officers observed a .357 Magnum revolver in an open hallway closet. Additionally, an SKS-45 rifle was observed positioned behind an open bedroom door.


North Carolina Probation and Parole contacted the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division and the Rutherford County ACE Team to assist. Both the homeowner and the female present were known convicted felons and are prohibited from possessing firearms.


Based on the presence of multiple firearms in plain view, detectives and officers on scene believed additional firearms could be located within the residence and on the property. A search warrant was obtained and subsequently executed on 03/24/2026.


During the execution of the search warrant, officers located:

Smith & Wesson .357 revolver

Rossi .22 revolver

Kimber Solo Carry 9mm handgun

Russian SKS-45 rifle

$2,200.00 in cash

A Forest City Police Department officer badge

Ammunition

20.96 grams total of methamphetamine

4.86 grams of marijuana

Three dosage units of Xanax

Various items of drug paraphernalia


Aaron Yelton and Kristen Ramsey were arrested and transported to the Rutherford County Detention Center by Probation and Parole for probation violations.


Aaron Yelton was additionally charged by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office with:

Possession of a Firearm by a Felon

Possession with Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Methamphetamine

Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Controlled Substance

Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia


Yelton was issued no bond.

Kristen Ramsey was charged by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office with:

Possession of a Firearm by a Felon


North Carolina Probation and Parole also served both Ramsey and Yelton with probation violations. Both individuals were held without bond.
