According to NHTSA, Ford is recalling certain 2022-25 Lincoln Navigator, 2024-25

Lincoln Nautilus, 2025 Lincoln Aviator, and Explorer vehicles.

The recall was initiated because a component (Image Processing Module A) that

interprets video captured by the car may unexpectedly reset. The software defect can

cause the loss of the rearview camera image and disrupt driver assistance features,

including pre-collision assist, lane-keeping assist and blind-spot monitoring.

The sudden loss of those features can hamper a driver’s ability to detect hazards and

increase the risk of a crash, the NHTSA warns. In total, the recall includes 254,640 vehicles.

NHTSA says moving forward, the IPMA software will be updated by a dealer or through

an over-the-air update, free of charge.

Letters notifying owners of the safety risk are expected to be mailed out on March 30.

If you have any questions, contact Ford customer service at 1-866-436-7332.

Don't people purchase dash cams to protect themselves? And if the vehicle is videoing anything - where is the video being stored? Who has ownership of the video? How can the driver turn the video off and know that it really is off.

an over-the-air update, free of charge." And how much wi-fi will this require? Should drivers get down on their knees and worship the "free of charge" over the air update that could subject them to…
