Lake Lure police warn “counterfeit currency” used

Recently, “the Lake Lure Police Department was made aware of incidents involving the exchange of counterfeit currency at a local business,” according to a statement on March 30.

“This matter is currently under investigation. If any activity of suspicious transactions occur at your business, please contact the Lake Lure Police Department immediately,” the statement said.
