Marion Man Charged with Felony Vehicle Theft

Detective Kyle Gibson with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 52-year-old Charles Williams Memsen of Marion with felony larceny of a motor vehicle. Memsen was given a $20,000 secured bond.

On July 25, deputies responded to a Marion residence after a Ford Fusion was reported stolen. Investigators identified Memsen as the suspect who had taken the vehicle without permission.

Memsen returned to the residence with the car on July 30, following several days in Buncombe County. He was arrested and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.
