The South Carolina Department of Public Health has confirmed a case of measles on the campus of Clemson University, as the state continues to battle a growing outbreak affecting schools and communities across South Carolina.

According to university officials, the confirmed case involves an individual affiliated with Clemson. It is unclear where on campus the exposure occurred. The case adds to the increasing number of infections reported in the Upstate region.

As of Friday, state health officials reported 124 new cases identified this week, bringing the total number of infections to 558 since the outbreak began in 2025.

Clemson University stated that approximately 98% of students on the main campus have provided proof of immunity to measles.
