A Memphis man is facing multiple gun-related charges in Rutherford County District Court after Forest City police alleged he was carrying a stolen handgun while prohibited from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction.
Court records show Keuntray Tyrell Henson, 41, of Westmont Road in Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested Jan. 27, 2026, and charged with possession of a stolen firearm, possession of a firearm by a felon, carrying a concealed gun, and carrying a concealed handgun after consuming alcohol. The case is pending under 26CR220166-800.
According to charging documents, police allege Henson had a 9mm CZ handgun that was reported stolen. The firearm’s owner could not be immediately verified, but was believed to be located in Memphis, according to eCourts. The weapon was valued at approximately $500, court records said.
Prosecutors further allege Henson is legally barred from possessing firearms due to a prior felony conviction in Shelby County, Tennessee, where he pleaded guilty in 2008 to a felony firearm offense and received a suspended sentence. Under North Carolina law, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon is a Class G felony.
Forest City Police Officer Josh Williams is listed as the arresting officer and complainant in the case.
Henson faces the following counts:
Possession of a Stolen Firearm (felony)
Possession of a Firearm by a Felon (felony)
Carrying a Concealed Gun (misdemeanor)
Carrying a Concealed Handgun After Consuming Alcohol (misdemeanor)
A Rutherford County magistrate found probable cause for the charges and issued a magistrate’s order the night of the arrest. A $70,000 secured bond was set, allowing release through cash, property, or professional surety.
On Jan. 28, District Court Judge Corey James Mackinnon appointed Caroline Nicole Jones as defense counsel. Court records indicate Henson waived his right to a probable cause hearing, a move that allows the case to proceed without a preliminary evidentiary review at this stage. A disposition hearing is scheduled for Feb. 11, 2026, at 8:23 a.m. at the Rutherford County Courthouse.
The Forest City police department has not released a statement about the arrest.
