Nebo Man Arrested on 10 Felony Sex Offense Charges Involving Child

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a Nebo man following an investigation into reported sex offenses involving a child.

According to the sheriff’s office, 40-year-old Cody Warren Myers of Harmony Grove Road in Nebo was arrested Tuesday, August 11, 2026, after investigators obtained arrest warrants in connection with the investigation.

Myers is charged with:

• Three counts of felony statutory sex offense with a child under 15

• Seven counts of felony statutory rape of a child under 15

  
  

The Burke County Sheriff’s Office said the investigation began Friday, August 7, following a report of a sex offense involving a child. At the conclusion of the investigation, warrants were issued for Myers.

Myers was taken into custody on August 11 and transported to the Burke County Magistrate’s Office, where he was served with the outstanding warrants. He was denied bond.

Myers is scheduled to appear in court on August 13, 2026.

The investigation involved the Burke County Sheriff’s Office, Catawba County Sheriff’s Office and Burke County Children’s Advocacy Center.

As with any criminal charge, Myers is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
