Rutherford County Prosecutor Receives Award

Last week, investigators from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office attended the statewide Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) meeting held at Lake Junaluska. During the event, Assistant District Attorney Brittany Shaffer received a Partnership Award recognizing her work in prosecuting ICAC cases.

ICAC investigations often involve complex and sensitive matters that require detailed investigative and prosecutorial efforts. According to officials, Shaffer has worked to expand her expertise in this area, resulting in multiple convictions in Rutherford County.

The award highlights the collaboration between the District Attorney’s Office and the Sheriff’s Office in addressing crimes involving children.
