A Rutherford County school bus driver has been charged in connection with a Tuesday morning crash in Ellenboro.
The incident happened around 7:08 a.m. at the intersection of New House Road and Gene Davis Road. It involved Rutherford County school bus number 70 and a Ford F-150 pickup truck.
According to the North Carolina Highway Patrol, the bus driver failed to yield the right of way to the truck while turning left onto New House Road. The bus was carrying four passengers in addition to the driver. No one on the bus was injured, but the truck’s driver was taken to a hospital in Shelby with minor injuries.
On Wednesday, the Highway Patrol confirmed the bus driver was charged with failure to yield. The driver’s name has not yet been released.
