Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Help Locating Missing Teen

The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in locating 16-year-old Brooklyn Kay Pruett.

According to the sheriff’s office, Pruett was in the custody of the Department of Social Services and ran away on July 25, 2025. Authorities say she has been a frequent runaway and is believed to have connections in Rutherford, Gaston, and Mecklenburg counties.

Anyone with information about Pruett’s location is urged to contact the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office at 828-286-2911. Anonymous tips may be submitted through Rutherford County Crimestoppers at 828-286-TIPS or via the RCSO App.

The sheriff’s office reminds the public that anyone who assists a runaway juvenile in avoiding law enforcement could face criminal charges.
