On 3/28/2026, Officers with the Tri-City Violent Crimes Task Force, along with Spindale Police Department Patrol Division and Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Road Patrol, executed a narcotics search warrant at 197 Church St in Spindale, NC. This search warrant was in response to numerous citizen complaints and tips about narcotics activity, along with other evidence gathered by Investigators into the activities at 197 Church St.
Due to officer safety concerns and the possibility of a large number of people being located inside the residence, officers conducted a “Surround and Callout” by establishing a perimeter and ordering the occupants of 197 Church St to exit via loudspeaker. While conducting the “Surround and Callout,” officers detained a total of 8 individuals, with 1 individual actively attempting to discard narcotics as they exited the residence. That person was later identified as Jodeci Foster, with the narcotics being identified as purple powdered fentanyl powder totaling approximately 1.17 grams.
Occupants of the residence indicated that another subject was possibly located inside the residence who is wanted on felony warrants for drug trafficking. After a substantial attempt to have the subject exit the residence, CS gas was deployed into the residence to attempt to safely resolve the situation. With no contact made with the possible subject inside the residence and the possibility of a barricaded person being inside the residence, Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Sheriff’s Emergency Response Team (SERT) was requested to help facilitate clearing the residence safely.
RCSO SERT was able to safely clear the residence and did not locate any other subjects. Investigators with TCVCTF then executed the narcotics search warrant. A search of the residence located a total of 4.4 grams of powdered fentanyl and another 8 dosage units of suspected pressed fentanyl pills. Also located in the residence were copious amounts of drug paraphernalia for the purposes of using fentanyl.
As a result of this search warrant, the following arrests were made:
