The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has released new details regarding a shooting that occurred at a large party on Beams Mill Road in Ellenboro on November 2, 2025.
The Rutherford County Communications Center received multiple 911 calls that night reporting shots fired at the gathering. While deputies were en route, officials learned that two individuals had been shot and left the scene before law enforcement arrived. One victim was transported by Rutherford County EMS to a hospital, while the other was taken by private vehicle.
When deputies reached the location, many attendees had already fled on foot or by vehicle. Detectives and forensic personnel responded to conduct interviews and collect evidence. Because of the size of the crowd, investigators have spent the past two weeks identifying and locating individuals who were present. Numerous interviews have been conducted as detectives work to determine what led to the gunfire.
The Sheriff’s Office announced that the first suspect has now been charged. A 15-year-old juvenile from another county faces charges of attempted murder and robbery with a dangerous weapon. A juvenile petition has been filed, and a secured custody order has been issued. The juvenile is being held in secure custody.
According to investigators, the case remains active, and additional individuals involved are expected to face charges as the investigation continues. Officials noted that the incident reflects the risks associated with open-invite parties organized on social media platforms.
The Sheriff’s Office is urging anyone who attended the party to come forward, including those from outside Rutherford County. Investigators are seeking cell phone videos, social media footage, or any information that may help in the case.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office at 828-286-2911. Anonymous tips can be submitted through Rutherford County Crimestoppers at 828-286-TIPS or via the RCSO App.
