Sheriff’s Office Still Looking for Missing Rutherford County Man

The N.C. Center for Missing Persons has issued a Missing Endangered Alert for Ricky James Watson, who is believed to be suffering from a cognitive impairment.

The alert was issued on June 23, 2025, after Watson was last seen near the 2700 block of Poors Ford Road in Rutherfordton. His most recent known location was reported close to 2812 Poors Ford Road.

Authorities are asking the public to be on the lookout for Watson and to contact the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office with any information. Anonymous tips may also be submitted through Rutherford County Crimestoppers or the RCSO mobile app.
