Full November food assistance benefits are expected to appear on North Carolina EBT cards by Nov. 14, under new federal guidance issued after Congress voted to reopen the federal government and President Donald Trump signed it into law.
The N.C. Department of Health and Human Services said the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Thursday letter authorized states to immediately disburse full November SNAP benefits. The agency directed states to restore the remaining allotments “without delay” now that federal funding is active again, and said the full amount may be issued in a single deposit regardless of when households normally receive benefits.
The move clears the way for North Carolina to complete November payments for approximately 600,000 households. Because the restored benefits will be deposited at once, some recipients will receive their November funds earlier than their regular issuance date. December benefits will follow households’ standard schedules.
State officials urged beneficiaries to keep checking their EBT card balances using the ebtEDGE mobile app, the ebtEDGE website, or the customer service line at 1-888-622-7328. Any amount displayed on the card is available for immediate use.
North Carolinians facing urgent food shortages can visit NC211.org for assistance, NCDHHS said, or use the state’s food-access directory to locate nearby pantries. A statewide map of free food sites, developed by NC Local News, is available on their website.
