Deputy Tre Spearman with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office has charged 27-year-old Christopher Ryian Towery of Union Mills with felony breaking and/or entering a motor vehicle with theft and misdemeanor larceny. Towery was given a secured bond of $10,000.

On Thursday, October 2, Deputy Spearman responded to a report of a prior vehicle break-in in the Vein Mountain Road area. The victim told authorities that Towery entered her vehicle, took an item, and left the scene on foot.

Home surveillance footage provided by the homeowner confirmed Towery’s identity as the suspect.
