Vickie Clay Rayfield, age 72, of Cliffside, passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at Atrium Health-Charlotte.


Vickie was born Wednesday, December 23, 1953 in Cleveland County to the late Freddie Clay and Betty Lail Clay. She attended Shelby High School and was a past member of the Missionary Methodist Church in Shelby. Vickie worked for twenty-two years for Cone Mill-Haynes Plant and also was a real estate agent for Cardinal Realty for several years. She enjoyed working on crafts, growing flowers, woodworking and bowling. Vickie was an animal lover and enjoyed taking care of her pet dogs.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Rebecca Wall and Martha Lovelace and a brother, Michael Clay.


Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Glenda Ogren (Artie) of Mooresboro and Tonya Rayfield of Spartanburg; son, Tony Curtis Rayfield, Jr. (Leslie Parsons) of Mooresboro; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.


In honor of her wishes there will be no formal services held.
