Cleveland County Government – The annual Household Hazardous Waste Day, sponsored by the Cleveland County Health Department, NC Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, and Cleveland County Cooperative Extension, provides Cleveland County residents with a safe way to dispose of common household items including pesticides, car batteries, paints, and much more.
Bring your items to the Cleveland County Health Department at 200 South Post Road in Shelby on Saturday, March 7 between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Please note that business or commercial waste will not be accepted at this event. To ensure proper disposal, original containers are preferred, and items will be subject to inspection. The Cleveland County Health Department reserves the right to refuse items at its discretion.
In addition, Cleveland County offers a variety of recycling programs available year-round. These programs facilitate the proper disposal of household items, outdated electronics, unused medications, and more, offering residents a responsible way to safely discard their waste.
