Carolyn Christine Epps Francis

Carolyn Christine Epps Francis, age 85, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center.

Carolyn was born Monday, April 14, 1941 in McDowell County, NC to the late Barnie G. Epps and Gladys Burnette Epps. She graduated in 1959, with the last graduating class of Tri-High School. Carolyn worked for PPG industries and retired after 40 years of service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Christopher Edwin Francis and her brother, Barnie G. Epps, Jr.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 67 years, Charles Francis of Forest City, NC and a sister, Judy Latham (Gene) of Shelby, NC.

The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 pm on Saturday, October 17th at Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole officiating. Interment will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

Memorial donations are requested to the Meals on Wheels program at the Rutherford County Senior Center, 193 Callahan Koon Road, Spindale, NC 28160.
