Corbit Alan "Chino" Smith

Corbit Alan “Chino” Smith, age 60, of Bostic, passed away Friday, September 25, 2026. He was born Saturday, December 4, 1965 in Robeson County, to the late Rubin Smith and to Brenda Mercer Smith who resides in Lumberton, NC. Alan was a graduate of Lumberton High School, class of 1983 and worked in commercial building construction most of his life. He was an outdoorsman who took pleasure in building things with his hands. Alan was a baseball card enthusiast and an avid collector of antique toys. He was a member of Mt. Olivet Baptist Church and enjoyed taking care of his cats and dogs. Alan’s greatest joy came in spending time with his family. He loved each of them dearly.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jessica Nichole Smith; grandmother, Jesse Smith and a stepson, Darren Goforth.

Besides his mother, those left to cherish his memory include his wife of thirty years, Dianne Smith of Bostic; son, Bobby Smith of Lumberton; stepdaughter, Michelle Templin (Ray) of Rutherfordton; stepsons, Joshua Doty of Gaffney, SC and Matt Doty of Eufaula, Alabama; sister, Denise Davis (William) of Littlefield, NC; grandkids, Kaylee Holt, Shea Dawson, Cheynne Bredick, Paitun Doty, Cole Templin; nephew, Hunter Davis; nieces, Lauen Davis, Laiken Davis and his best friends, Scott Jones of Bostic and Darryl Rosier of Fayetteville, NC.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Thursday, October 1st at Mt. Olivet Baptist Church with Reverend Curtis Henson and Reverend Trent Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
