Early Morning House Fire Reported in Marion

MARION, N.C. — Fire crews responded to an early morning house fire in Marion this week after a home became engulfed in flames shortly after dawn.
According to reports, firefighters were called to a home on Jacktown Road around 5:20 a.m. When crews arrived, they found the structure heavily involved in fire with nearby buildings threatened by the flames. Thankfully, no one was inside the home at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.
Officials said firefighters worked quickly to bring the blaze under control, containing the fire in approximately 18 minutes and preventing damage to surrounding structures.
Authorities described the fire as appearing to be accidental, though the exact cause remains under investigation.
The incident serves as another reminder for residents to regularly check smoke detectors, practice fire safety and have emergency plans in place for their families.
The Marion Fire Department and assisting agencies were praised for their fast response and efforts in preventing the fire from spreading further.
