Exclusive: Lake Lure Man Arrested on Multiple Felony and Misdemeanor Charges

Landon Hunter Register, 21, of 153 Fox Run Blvd, Lake Lure, was arrested on September 27, 2025, and is facing multiple felony and misdemeanor charges in Rutherford County.


Court records show Register’s total secured bond is $280,000, divided across three magistrate-set bonds of $50,000, $150,000, and $80,000. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 19, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. at the Rutherford County Courthouse.


Register is charged with:


  • Two counts of assault by strangulation (felony)

  • Intimidation of a witness (felony)

  • Obstructing justice (felony, common law)

  • Misdemeanor domestic violence-related offenses

  • Misdemeanor child abuse

  • Assault with a deadly weapon with a minor present

  • Discharge of a firearm in city limits


Court documents note that all charges stem from prior failure-to-appear violations. Register remains in custody at the time of publication.
