Five Arrested Following Lavista Circle Investigation

Over an extended period of time, the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has investigated multiple cases involving the residence located at 182 Lavista Circle in Forest City. Throughout the investigation, investigators continued to receive numerous complaints and tips from members of the community regarding suspected illegal narcotics activity at the residence.
Based on both recent and previously received information, investigators with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Aggressive Criminal Enforcement (ACE) Team responded to the residence to conduct a follow-up investigation and speak with the occupants.
Investigators made contact with the homeowner, Neal Cabiness, who was once again advised of the complaints and information received regarding suspected narcotics sales occurring at the residence. Cabiness voluntarily consented to a search of the property.
During the search, investigators encountered Donald J. Kampa, Julie W. Glynn, James D. Phillips, and Stanley L. Weeks inside the residence. The search resulted in the seizure of approximately 14 grams of powder fentanyl, 1.5 grams of methamphetamine, 12.05 grams of marijuana, and numerous items of drug paraphernalia.
As a result of the investigation, the following individuals were arrested and charged:

Trafficking in Fentanyl
Possession With Intent to Manufacture, Sell, or Deliver Fentanyl
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

James D. Phillips
Trafficking in Fentanyl
Possession of Methamphetamine
Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance
Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Bond: No Bond

Bond: $10,000 Secured
