Deputy Angel Hernandez with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 28-year-old
Alexander Hakeem Hardy, of Marion, with felony possession of methamphetamine and
felony possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued a $5,000 secured bond.
On Wednesday, April 22, Deputy Hernandez responded to a call about a suspicious
person attempting to enter a local church while causing damage to the property.
Upon arrival, the caller advised that Hardy, the suspect, had left the area, and a search
for him ensued.
After a brief foot chase, Hardy was apprehended by Lt. Jason Cook at the entrance of
another nearby church.
A search of his person turned up a suspected amount of methamphetamine and drug
paraphernalia.
