A Forest City Little League board member resigned Tuesday night after allegations of inappropriate behavior toward women were shared on social media, prompting an emergency meeting of the league’s board.
In a statement, the board said it became aware of the claims involving Dylan Hill and immediately conducted a review, including national criminal background screenings and a check of the sex offender registry. Hill resigned during the meeting and is no longer affiliated with the league. Hill was the league's vice president and served as safety officer, according to the league's safety plan.
“We take any allegation of misconduct extremely seriously,” the board said, adding that the safety of players, families and volunteers remains its top priority.
The allegations were first detailed publicly by Brianne Nichols, who claimed that multiple statements and screenshots had been gathered from women in the community. Nichols said she reported the concerns to the U.S. Center for SafeSport, Little League International, and law enforcement.
Another person, Lucas Hamrick, said Hill allegedly harassed his wife. He further alleged that Hill had previously been asked to leave a volunteer fire department and had been removed from basic law enforcement training and military recruitment processes. WCAB News has not independently verified those claims.
A request for comment from Hill was not immediately returned Tuesday night.
A review of North Carolina criminal court records and the state’s sex offender registry did not show Hill listed with any convictions or registry entry as of Feb. 24.
Forest City Little League says its mission is to provide a safe, supportive environment for youth baseball and softball while promoting integrity and good sportsmanship.
