Detective Aaron Vallini with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 33-year-old Dakota Hollifield of Marion with felony Breaking and/or Entering and felony Larceny after Breaking and/or Entering. He was given a secured bond of $10,000.

On Monday, Jan. 5, deputies responded to a call about an active breaking-and-entering in the Glenwood area. Upon arrival, the victim stated the suspects had already left and had cut and removed wiring from two chicken houses on the property.

An investigation by Det. Vallini along with photographs provided by the victim determined that Hollifield was responsible for removing the wiring.

Hollifield was apprehended at a gas station in Old Fort after being pulled over by MCSO Det. Matt Smith for a traffic violation. Some of the stolen wire was recovered at this time after a subsequent search of the vehicle took place.
