Deputy James Day with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged James David Huskins, 62, of Nebo, with felony Possession of Methamphetamine, felony Possession of a Controlled Substance on Jail Premises and misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was initially denied bond due to already being out on pretrial release.

On Monday, Jan. 12, Deputy Day initiated a vehicle stop on Huskins in the Nebo area for a traffic violation. During this time, Huskins was found to have an active warrant out for his arrest. He was arrested and transported to the McDowell County Detention Center.

During processing, Huskins was found to be in possession of a suspected amount of methamphetamine during a search of his person by Detention Center officers.
