Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office Reports August Activity Numbers

Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office has released its activity report for August 2025, providing a summary of law enforcement efforts and community services over the month.
Deputies responded to 4,233 calls for service and filed 239 reports. A total of 178 arrests were made, with the county jail averaging 160 inmates daily, including 133 males and 27 females.
The office also issued 135 concealed carry permits, consisting of 23 new permits and 112 renewals. Deputies served 641 papers, which included 299 criminal papers and 342 civil papers.
In narcotics enforcement, authorities reported seizing 121.3 grams of marijuana, 93.3 grams of methamphetamine, 225.9 grams of fentanyl, 10 grams of cocaine, 154 pills, 1.9 grams of other substances, and 11 firearms.
The monthly report also included a six-month comparison of activity levels. Calls for service have gradually increased, rising from 3,468 in February to over 4,200 in August. Arrest numbers have ranged from 134 in February to 178 in August. Inmate averages have remained relatively stable, between 151 and 163.
Sheriff Aaron Ellenburg said the monthly statistics are updated as information becomes available and may be revised if necessary.
