An investigation that began after a runaway juvenile was located has led to the arrest of a South Carolina man on felony child sex charges.
Detective Billie Brown with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 47-year-old Samuel Bradshaw of Conway, S.C. with felony Statutory Rape of a Child 15 years of Age or Younger and felony Indecent Liberties with a Child. He was initially denied bond.
On May 11, MCSO deputies responded to assist the Old Fort Police Department in locating a runaway juvenile. Once the underage female was found, information shared during the investigation alleged that Bradshaw had engaged in inappropriate sexual contact with the juvenile approximately one week before she left her residence. At that time, Bradshaw was staying at the home with the victim and other family members.
An investigation by Detective Brown confirmed the allegation and charges against Bradshaw were filed.
He was subsequently located and arrested in Conway, and then extradited to the McDowell County Detention Center.
