Two Marion Men Arrested Following Narcotics Search

Two Marion men have been arrested following a narcotics search warrant executed Wednesday morning, August 19, by McDowell County Drug Enforcement and the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team.
Authorities conducted the search at the Marion residence of 49-year-old Jacob Edward Finley. According to the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office, investigators found multiple items consistent with illegal drug activity, including drug paraphernalia, suspected methamphetamine, a black digital scale and other evidence.
Detective Josh Maddux of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged two men in connection with the investigation.
Jacob Edward Finley, 49, of Marion, was charged with:
Felony possession of methamphetamine
Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine
Felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance
Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
Spencer O’Connor Elliott, 56, of Marion, was charged with:
Felony possession of methamphetamine
Felony possession with intent to manufacture, sell or deliver methamphetamine
Felony maintaining a vehicle, dwelling or place for a controlled substance
Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
Both Finley and Elliott were given secured bonds of $40,000.
The investigation remains part of McDowell County’s ongoing efforts to combat illegal drug activity in the community.
