On September 3, 2025, the Burke County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of larceny at 905 Salem Road. Deputies were advised that a white male suspect had stolen a turbocharger from the property.

While patrolling the area, a deputy located a man matching the suspect’s description, later identified as 35-year-old Neal Joseph Brown, who is listed as homeless. The stolen turbocharger was found in Brown’s backpack. A subsequent search also revealed several items of drug paraphernalia.

The victim confirmed to deputies that he saw Brown walk onto his property, remove the turbocharger, and place it in the backpack.

Brown was transported to the Burke County Magistrate’s Office and charged with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen goods or property, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was given a $5,000 secured bond and is scheduled to appear in court on September 4, 2025.
