Marion Man Charged with Drug Possession

Deputy William Guzman with the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged 38-year old Daniel Scott Swink of Marion with the following:

• Felony Possession of Methamphetamine

• Felony Possession of a Synthetic Cannabinoid

• Misdemeanor Driving While License Revoked (Not Impaired)

• Misdemeanor Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

He was issued a secured bond of $10,000.

On Saturday, March 21, Deputy Guzman initiated a traffic stop on a Ford F150 in the West Marion area for traffic violations.

A subsequent search of the vehicle turned up suspected amounts of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.
