POLK COUNTY — Two separate accidents involving tractor trailers caused major traffic delays this week.

The first crash occurred Tuesday morning around 8:20 a.m. on U.S. 74 east of Columbus. According to reports, the driver suffered minor injuries. The wreck blocked traffic for nearly eight hours before the roadway was cleared.

In a separate incident, a tractor trailer jackknifed while attempting to turn around on Highway 108 near the Polk County Sheriff’s Office. That crash temporarily closed the highway, but no injuries were reported.
