We want to make you aware that Western North Carolina is currently experiencing drought conditions that are impacting our region’s water resources.

At this time, we are asking all customers to participate in voluntary water conservation efforts to help protect our shared water supply. These early actions can make a meaningful difference and help reduce the need for stricter restrictions in the future.

Here are a few simple ways you can help conserve water:

- Take shorter showers

- Turn off faucets when not in use

- Only run dishwashers and washing machines with full loads

- Limit lawn and garden watering to only what is necessary

- Reduce car washing

- Avoid washing driveways, sidewalks, and other outdoor surfaces

- Delay new landscaping work

Our water system relies on the Broad River, and reduced flows during drought conditions make conservation especially important. By working together, we can help ensure a reliable water supply for our community.

If drought conditions worsen and system triggers are met, we may move into mandatory water use reduction measures as outlined in our Water Shortage Response Plan. If this occurs, customers will be notified promptly with details on required restrictions and next steps.

We will continue to monitor conditions closely and keep you informed of any changes. Stay informed on drought conditions and advisories at ncdrought.org.

Thank you for your cooperation and for doing your part to conserve water.
