A Forest City man is being held under a $5 million secured bond after a Rutherford County grand jury indicted him on multiple felony child sex offense charges, according to public court records.

Court documents identify the defendant as 27-year-old Christopher Seth Ledford of Harrill Road, Forest City. Ledford faces six felony counts: three counts of Attempted Statutory Sex Offense with a Child by an Adult and three counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child.

The case, State of North Carolina vs. Christopher Seth Ledford (24CR000166-800), was filed April 15, 2024, in Rutherford Superior Court. The alleged offenses are reported to have occurred on September 1, 2023, and were investigated by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office. Due to the court system’s transition to eCourts, legacy documents for the case were not available online at the time of publication.

An arrest order was issued the same day the indictment was filed. Records show Ledford was taken into custody at 11:23 p.m. on October 16, 2025, and remains at the Rutherford County Detention Center.

Detective Julie Greene of the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office is listed as the investigating officer. The case remains pending in Rutherford Superior Court, with a legacy case scan logged on October 17, 2025, marking the most recent procedural update.

Ledford’s bond was set at $5,000,000 secured by a magistrate.

WCAB News will continue to monitor court filings and developments in the case.
